About the Journal
The journal “Modern Historical Studies” was first published in the year 1999 from the Department of History, Rabindra Bharati University. So far ten volumes of the journal have been published. It is published annually and is a blind-peer reviewed and refereed journal. We have a fairly well defined reviewers committee Internationally and nationally having subjective specialization. The forthcoming volume is in the University press.
Submission and Publication Charges
The Journal claims absolutely NO PROCESSING FEES at any level as it is fully funded by Rabindra Bharati University.
Publication Policy
Selection Criteria
Articles are invited through wide circulation of notification using print and online media and social media across the country generally in the month of January every year. A board of editors and Editorial Advisory committee selects few suitable articles based on various criteria, such as subject depth, type of work, methodology followed by the authors, citation and reference standards etc. selected articles than send to various peers across the country by using blind peer review process for quality judgment. If reviewers allow than we select the article for publication.
The Reviewing Process
All selected manuscripts are subjected to peer reviewed by independent reviewers. Peer reviews are done by double blinding method where both the author and the reviewer are unaware other. Final decision of accepting the article rests with the editor.
Final Selection
Verifying the Reviewer’s comment, finally the editorial board will take decision to publish the paper. As there is limited space once the paper selected may publish in the next volume subject to the availability of space.
Author will be informed if paper is not selected for publication with reviewer’s comments.
Submission Process
All manuscripts must be submitted in MS-word (.doc) format through e-mail in the following email address – mhsrbu@gmail.com.
After final selection of the article author has to send the corrected soft copy (through email) with two hard copy along with CD to the following address along with a DECLARATION stating its originality and not anywhere send for publication before.
Publishing Ethics
The publication of an article in this journal is a direct reflection of the author’s nascent micro thought of the subject domain. Therefore it is expected that a certain standard is maintained by the authors and the affiliated institutions that support them.
With the quality of thought, literature, language, it is very important and expected to agree upon standards of ethical behaviour for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher.
Within our limited capacity we try our best to maintain the above mentioned ethics before publishing any article in our journal. We strongly try to avoid copyright violation, plagiarism and request an authentification certificate from our authors. We abide by the rules and regulations mentioned in our style sheet (enclosed) regarding citations and acknowledgements in the manuscript.
No processing fees in any step of the publication in Modern Historical Studies have been charged from the Authors. All costs are borne by the University.
We also follow a blind peer review process from very respected and learned professionals who have knowledge in the specific domain.
For Authors
Authors should restrain from misrepresenting facts and providing fallacious data which could damage the reputation of the journal.

The manuscript should not be submitted to more than one journals at a time;

The manuscript should not be published previously;

Any data or text referred to must be mentioned in the citation (plagiarism);

Consent should be taken from all co-authors or other authorities before submitting a manuscript;
For Editor
The editorial board endorses authentic and commendable research papers and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, religion, designation or affiliation. The identity of the author is not disclosed while sending manuscripts to peers for reviewing.
For Reviewer
Requested to examine thoroughly and help us to maintain the quality and standard of the paper; maintain the confidentiality of any information related to the paper.
